"A Foray into Indigo"

This abstract was born out of an obsession with the brilliant indigo ink of Indigo Milk Cap mushrooms. I came across this mushroom in late summer and was stunned at colour - a colour that is so rare in nature. For weeks I could not get Indigo out of my head and dreams. I finally decided to bring it out in the studio. At first, I planned to solely use shades of Indigo, but the colour was overwhelming on its own (I hope to revisit this). I eased into by adding these beautiful, and soft green hues- reminiscent of the forest and instantly found myself in flow again. The colours appear starkingly rich under white light, and soft under daylight. This painting symbolizes being bold, daring to explore and dip your toes into something new.

18" x 24" Acrylic on canvas with UV protectant. With an optional custom red oak frame that I highly recommend. Alternative wood species are also available, so please reach out if this interests you.
