"The last day of summer"
This abstract was made in August, on a day that felt like it might be the last day of summer. August is my favourite month of the year. I find it such an emotional month, full of highs and lows, compounded by the fact that summer is disappearing. I painted this outside during the golden hour, as the sun dipped below the horizon. It started with a very limited palette, but blending quickly brought new shades and tones to life.
12" x 16" Acrylic on canvas with UV protectant. Framed in a custom locally made White Birch frame.
